Priya Nambiar has spent over a decade in private school admissions, at the Brentwood School and Viewpoint School in Los Angeles, and over 20 years in education.
She has interviewed over 1,000 students and has helped make admissions decisions based on several criteria including academic readiness, artistic interests, athletic contribution, and personality match. Because she has been in the room where difficult admissions decisions are made, she understands what makes one applicant stand out over another. At the same time, she also intimately understands the stress and anxiety of applying to competitive schools.
As an educational consultant, Priya combines her knowledge of admissions and the Los Angeles private school landscape with a steadfast commitment to families and their search for the right school. She focuses on helping families find environments where a child has the best chance of succeeding, not just in academics but in social/emotional development, sports, the arts, and all other aspects of life.
I created Nambiar Advising to help parents—those living in L.A. and those moving to Los Angeles from other parts of the country or world—navigate the private school application process. With my background in admissions and lifelong dedication to education, I hope to reduce the stress that families experience and to match parents and children with the best schools for them. Because I understand, through professional and personal experience, that happy children make the most successful children.
At Nambiar Advising, Sanjay Nambiar brings his writing and editing experience, organizational skills, and strategic expertise to help shepherd clients throughout the admissions process. He also manages the company’s business operations.
In addition to his role at Nambiar Advising, Sanjay is an award-winning author of several children’s books, including titles in the Super Amazing Princess Heroes and A Little Zen for Little Ones series.
Through his books, he hopes to inspire readers and convey positive messages to kids. Sanjay also has extensive experience as a business executive and entrepreneur. His career has included executive roles in investment banking, business development, and strategic marketing.
I focus on keeping our families organized and ensuring their message is clear, succinct, and compelling. The admissions process can be daunting, for sure. But with the right guidance and support, it also can be insightful and, at times, transformative.
